1. Emotional (empathic) feelings

One of the most common ways to receive clairsentient messages is through your emotions. For example, a clairsentient psychic may feel their mom’s anxiety about her upcoming dentist appointment.

While someone without clairsentience may walk past a homeless person and think, “That’s so sad,” a clairsentient psychic may feel the person’s pain.

2. Physical feelings

Another way you can experience clairsentience is through physical sensations like:

  • The pain of your spouse’s migraine
  • Your sister’s sprained wrist pain

But just because you feel your spouse’s migraine does not mean you’ll have a migraine, too. Instead, you may feel a slight twinge, tingle, or pressure in your head for a few moments.

This is the way it works in mediumship, too. When I’m connecting with a spirit that passed from a heart attack, I don’t get chest pains. But I do feel a tingling sensation in my chest.

It’s no secret that feeling energy from people and places could get draining.

Birthday parties may make you want to sleep for a week, and work conferences may make you contemplate quitting and becoming a shut-in… with a Netflix and California Wine Club subscription, of course!

Trust me, I’ve been there, done that.

But like I said, you can manage being a clairsentient psychic.

In fact, feelings of overwhelm are mostly experienced by clairsentients who haven’t learned how to manage their gift yet.

With the tips I’m going to share, you will have control over your ability, and won’t feel drained by energy. And in no time at all, you’ll be able to access clear intuitive guidance — and even go on to help others if you want.

Now that you can see how awesome this gift is, I’ll share my top tips for how to manage it.

1. Recognize the clairsentient journey

Remember that time your parents said you couldn’t go to the party of the year? That social setback was enough to throw yourself on the bed, put on some Cyndi Lauper (you just wanted to have fun!), and cry the night away…

If someone with clairsentience walked into your room then, they would have felt your sorrow. They may even have begged your parents to let you go — after all, it was Suzy’s last party of junior year!

But your parents said no for a reason (stupid math test), and that reason was a bigger part of your journey than the party.

That night you learned that not studying for tests had consequences. You also learned that one party didn’t determine your whole social fate.

So, when interacting with overwhelming feelings, remember that everyone on this planet is on their own journey. And you are only seeing (or feeling) a certain part of it. At the end of the day, you don’t know what they are here to experience or why they are going through XYZ.

2. Send pink light

After you realize that you don’t need to understand everyone’s journey, learn how to catch and release emotions.

As negative or upsetting emotions come your way, send pink light to the person experiencing them.

Understand that the best thing you can do for them is to psychically surround them with pink (or white) light. Then, set the intention to ease their pain, whether it’s physical or emotional.

I like to do this when I come across a car accident. I imagine sending love to those involved and surrounding them with soft pink light. This allows me to help without leaving me worried and exhausted.

3. Watch what you watch

We know watching P.S. I Love You again will leave us plowing through another box of tissues. So why do we do it?

If you’re feeling emotionally drained, don’t flip on the news! Opt for lighter shows that invite positivity or light into your space.

4. Avoid psychic vampires

Obviously, you can’t always avoid them. But, when possible, avoid the people who leave you wanting to run home, open a box of Oreos, and hide in bed all day.

Energy (emotional) vampires suck energy rather than blood.

They drone on about their problems, but never take your advice. And they carry drama around like a Michael Kors purse! If possible, limit your time with these people.

You can’t help them (even though you’ll want to), so it’s better to smile, send some light, and move on with your day.

How to Develop Clairsentience

Developing clairsentience increases your intuition and helps you understand your ability. Here are some easy ways to start strengthening your gift:

1. Use your intuition

Many people experience their intuition through gut instincts — like when a plan or project isn’t going to work out, you may get a “sinking” feeling in the pit of your stomach. Or, when you think about some event or project you are excited about, you feel aligned with it in your gut.

Begin tapping into and acting upon your intuition in your daily life. It will give you important information you need, as well as help you develop your “clear feeling” — a double dose of awesome!

2. Psychometry for psychic clairsentience

Did you know that your treasured family ring and well-loved childhood doll have all absorbed some of your energy?

Our energy transfers to the things we own, and the more we use it, the more energy is there.

Psychometry lets you “tune into” the energy an object by touching it with your hands. It’s like learning to ride a bike while having the support of training wheels!

To practice psychometry:

1. Ask a friend to give you some objects to use for practice. Jewelry works great for beginners, especially if it’s been worn a lot (don’t borrow your mom’s new earrings that she just got at Kohl’s – they won’t have much energy on them).

2. Relax and rub your hands together to get the energy flowing. If you’re hands tingle a little, that’s good for this exercise.

3. Next, hold the object for a few minutes, and feel what kind of energy it’s giving off. Is it positive or negative? How does your body feel? Do you feel any emotions?

3. Meditate

Meditation allows you to connect with your Higher Self. Because of this, it’s one of the best ways to develop your psychic abilities.

You don’t have to do anything elaborate. Just close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Then, set an intention to develop clairsentience.

Next, focus on your clairsentient ability. Imagine yourself using your intuition with ease, and receiving clear messages. Then, imagine passing by someone and knowing their personality, without them saying a word. How cool is that?!

4. Clairsentient Game

For this game, you’ll need a partner. It’s a fun game to play with kids, too, even though they always seem to win!

1. Grab a small item from around your house. If you’re playing with little kids, their “blankie” can be a good choice because blankies hold lots of energy. Have someone in the family hide the object while you step out for a minute.

2. When you come back inside, imagine feeling where the object is. Imagine a beam of light connecting you to the energy of the item or expanding your aura to sense it.

Does the object feel like it’s:

  • high or low?
  • in the basement? Bedroom? Bathroom?
  • under something?
