Should you follow a psychic diet once your intuitive abilities start opening up? You might already find once your abilities start to “wake up” that things in your life start to feel a little bit different.
Like maybe watching the nightly news makes you feel blah.
And maybe you’ve noticed that you are craving lighter foods. Salad with avocado? Yes, please!
It’s really natural to desire lighter, healthier foods when you’re on a spiritual path. Why? Because you’re vibration is raising. Easy peasy. Natural. Now we need to figure out what works best for your body.
There’s a lot of confusion surrounding the topic of psychic diets:
- Should you eat meat in order to become a professional psychic medium?
- Should you give up all alcohol?
- Should you give up coffee? Eeks, no, not coffee!
I don’t know about you, but I just wanna eat to nourish my body and snack on the occasional goodie while I watch the X-Files.
It took me a little while to figure out what works best for me and I’d like to help make the process easier for you :)
Why think about a psychic diet?
My husband is a big football buff and I honestly think he has a man-crush on Tom Brady.
Would Tom play his best game after eating a huge steak with all the trimmings, washed down with a couple of bottles of Heineken?
Me thinks not.
I’ve read that Tom Brady treats his body as a well-oiled machine (strict healthy diet… not even coffee) in order to play at the optimum level. I gotta say – it works – he’s an incredible athlete.
The theory behind a psychic diet is pretty much the same. The purpose of it is to raise your vibration which allows your intuitive gifts to operate at optimum levels.
But I don’t think there’s a one-size-fits-all for much of anything, and that includes a psychic diet.
We live in the physical realm where each of our bodies operates differently, and I believe we need to investigate what food combinations work for each of our own bodies and our unique abilities. That may look different for different people.
Plus, I don’t think I could ever give up chocolate!
What is a Psychic Diet?
As I said, there’s a lot of conflicting information on this topic, but most of the recommendations include some combination of the following:
- Eat very little, if any, meat
- Eat a lot of and a wide variety of fruits and vegetables
- Eat very little, if any, processed foods
- Eat very little, if any, junk foods
- Drink very little, if any, alcohol
- Drink a great deal of water
- Drink very little, if any, caffeine
Lots of these recommendations make sense:
Veggies and fruits
Veggies and fruits are not only highly nutritious and light, they are also considered to be high-vibrational foods because they are “living.”
Plus, have you tried a spinach and fruit smoothie? OMG, delish!
Eating more veggies = makes total sense.
Meat and animal products
Some of the other ones aren’t that easy. Cutting out meat or ALL animal products – like dairy and eggs? That’s a huge change for a lot of people.
But there are a couple of reasons why eliminating meat from your psychic diet could make sense for you:
- If you’re worried that the energy of the animal is transferred to you when you ingest their meat
- If it goes against your personal moral code of serving humanity
- Eating meat takes a lot of energy to digest, which can slow you down
So what do you do when you want to eat a burger?
First, don’t deprive yourself. Pay attention to how you feel when you eat certain foods. You may be surprised to find that you don’t miss them if you cut them out.
Or, maybe you’ll find that you don’t feel as energetic without at least some chicken and fish in your diet. Maybe you’ll cut out red meat only, but still enjoy dairy and eggs.
Whatever feels right for YOU is what you should do. There’s no need to worry about losing your psychic ability because you eat an egg. It doesn’t work that way.
I personally eat red meat about twice a month, cook mostly organic chicken and fish for my family, and eat lots of beans, fruits and veggies during the day. I also LOVE coffee, tea and chocolate! I NEVER eat a big meal before a reading because it makes me feel sluggish. I eat AFTER giving a reading to help ground me, though. :)
Eliminating alcohol is another tough decision for people who are developing their intuitive gifts. Again, I believe this is a very personal choice that only you can make.
I will say that you should NEVER drink alcohol before giving a reading because it lowers your vibration.
I personally don’t drink alcohol at all.
I loves me some coffee! But I’m also super sensitive and can only handle about 4 ounces a day. Yep.
Whether you can handle caffeine or not, it’s important to stay hydrated. As with eating more fruits and vegetables, drinking more water is something most of us should do anyway.
Remember that giving readings is energy work which can dehydrate you, so make sure that you drink plenty of water and/or herbal tea before, during and after a reading.
If you find you are more sensitive to caffeine now, like I am, just cut it out of your diet. If it doesn’t bother you by making you jumpy or irritable, then go for it!
Eliminating or at least cutting way back on the amount of processed and junk foods you consume is a no-brainer. This type of food provides no nutrition and should be avoided whether you’re psychic or not.
So, are you going to try a psychic diet?
Being on a psychic diet of your choosing shouldn’t feel restrictive because you will feel so much better being on it.
Start being more aware of what you put into your body to discover what raises your vibration, which in turn, will make it easier for you to increase your intuition and connection to spirit and provide the best reading for each of your clients.
Play, experiment. Only YOU should decide what combination of food and drinks makes up your psychic diet.
