Psychic Diet: Should You Follow One?

Should you follow a psychic diet once your intuitive abilities start opening up? There’s a lot of confusion surrounding this topic, such as:

  • Should you eat meat if you are becoming a psychic medium?
  • Can you drink alcohol if you’re clairvoyant?
  • Should you give up coffee and switch to herbal tea?

During a psychic awakening, your vibration raises, making it natural to desire lighter, healthier foods like salads and avocados.

That said, it took me a little while to understand what works best for me, and I’m here to make the process easier for you.

Your diet plays a supporting role in your intuitive development, but there’s no need to worry about losing your abilities because of what you eat. Whatever feels right for YOU is what you should do.

Why Consider a Psychic Diet?

My husband is a big football fan and I seriously think he has a crush on Tom Brady.

Would Tom play his best game after eating a huge steak with all the trimmings, washed down with a couple of bottles of Heineken?

No way!

I’ve read that Brady treats his body like a well-oiled machine (strict healthy diet, not even coffee) in order to play at his optimum level.

The theory behind a psychic diet is similar. The purpose of it is to raise your vibration by nourishing your body, which allows your intuitive gifts to operate at optimum levels.

Having said that, I don’t believe there is a one-size-fits-all solution for much of anything, and that includes psychic diets.

We live in the physical realm where each of our bodies has different needs. 

That means we each need to learn the best food combinations for our bodies and unique intuitive abilities.

What is a Psychic Diet?

A psychic diet includes a lot of high-vibrational, nutritious, “live” foods like vegetables and fruits.

These foods are lighter on your body and raise your energetic frequency (vibration). When your vibe is high, it’s easier to connect with your psychic gifts and Higher Self.

A psychic diet can be any combination of the following:

1. A Low Meat Intake

When we eat meat, our bodies have to work hard to digest it, which can slow down our system.

For that reason, some intuitives choose to eliminate meat.

But what about you? Should you eliminate meat if you’re going to follow a psychic diet?

Going vegetarian or vegan could be the right choice for you if:

  • You’re worried that the energy of an animal will be transferred to you when you ingest their meat — especially if you are an empath or clairsentient.
  • It goes against your personal moral code of serving humanity.

Having trouble deciding whether or not to eat meat? Try these tips:

  • First, don’t deprive yourself. Pay attention to how you feel when you eat certain foods. You may be surprised to find that you don’t miss them when you cut them out.
  • On the flip side, you may not feel as energetic without some chicken or fish in your diet. Ultimately, you may decide to cut out all meat (or red meat only), but still enjoy dairy and eggs.

Pro tip:

I eat red meat about once a week, cook organic chicken and fish for my family, and eat lots of beans, fruits and veggies. I also LOVE coffee, tea and chocolate, but NEVER eat a big meal before a reading because it makes me feel sluggish. Instead, I eat after giving a reading to ground myself.

2. Lots of Vegetables and Fruits

Veggies and fruits are not only highly nutritious and light, they are also considered to be high-vibrational foods because they are “living.”

(Plus, have you tried a spinach and fruit smoothie? — delish!)

Raw fruits and vegetables that are as close to their original form (like salads and steamed veggies) are best.

It’s especially important for spiritual mediums to keep a high vibe so they can “link” with, and sense, spirit energy.

3. Little or No Alcohol

Whether or not you drink alcohol is totally up to you — even if you’re intuitive. Just be sure not to drink alcohol 24-hours before you give a psychic or mediumship reading. Why?

Because alcohol and spiritual work do not play well together. Alcohol lowers your vibration and makes it harder for you to keep your energy high.

4. Drink Enough Water

Be sure to stay hydrated as you develop your psychic abilities. Water is the best choice, but non-caffeinated, herbal tea is good, too.

Remember: intuitive work is energy work, and that can dehydrate you… so be sure to drink up!

Turning it over to coffee…

If you find that you are more sensitive to caffeine these days, cut it out of your diet. But if it doesn’t making you feel jumpy or irritable, go for it if you want to!

Whether you can handle caffeine or not, it’s important to stay hydrated. As with eating more fruits and vegetables, drinking more water is something most of us should do anyway.

5. Little or No Processed or Junk Food

Eliminating or at least cutting way back on the amount of processed and junk foods you consume is a no-brainer.

This type of food provides no nutrition and should be avoided whether you’re psychic or not.

Now that you’ve got the guidelines for following a psychic diet, let’s discuss what to eat before giving a reading.

What to Eat Before a Reading

The key here is balance…

  • Don’t eat a huge meal right before a reading because it will take a lot of energy to digest.
  • If you want to eat pizza, you can… but limit it to a slice or two.
  • Don’t starve yourself prior to a reading. Going into a reading dehydrated, or with depleted energy will affect your psychic ability.

Remember, the goal of a psychic diet is to help you feel your best spiritually, physically, and emotionally. When you feel great, you’ll give great readings!

A high vibe will make it easier to strengthen your psychic gifts, connect to the spiritual realm, and provide insightful readings to your clients.

If you’re ready to try a psychic diet, start by being mindful of what you put into your body.

Then, pay attention to which food combo gives you the strongest connection to your intuition. It could be:

  • A low meat intake
  • An abundance of vegetables and fruit
  • Cutting back on processed and junk foods
  • Cutting back or eliminating alcohol
  • Drinking enough water to stay hydrated
  • Cutting back or eliminating caffeine

Have fun playing and experimenting with different things. At the end of the day, only YOU should decide what combination of food and drinks makes up your psychic diet.
